Arts Council offer “No deal” Brexit advice for arts and culture organisations in Britain
Arts Council England (ACE) has published a new guide to help arts and cultural organisations to prepare for a "no deal" Brexit.
The guide contains the latest relevant government advice in the event of the UK exiting from the European Union on 29 March 2019 without a withdrawal agreement in place – a prospect that grows closer with the heavy rejection of Prime Minister Theresa May’s negotiated deal in the House of Commons.
Containing links to government notices and policy papers, the guide has a section for organisations that are, or expect to be, in receipt of EU funding through schemes such as Creative Europe, Horizon 2020, the European Social Fund, European Regional Development Funding and Erasmus+.
Further sections cover the following subjects: freedom of movement, immigration and citizens’ rights; movement of goods/customs and borders; export and import of cultural property; data protection; geo-blocking of online content; copyright and intellectual property rights; broadcasting and on-demand services; and money and taxes/tax relief.
Laura Dyer, deputy chief executive for Places & Engagement at Arts Council England, said: "It's important that arts and cultural organisations are prepared for the possibility of a no deal scenario. This guide puts all the current relevant Government advice in one place and explains which might be relevant for different organisations."
