Lincoln City unveils stadium plans
Lincoln City Football Club (LCFC) has unveiled its plans for the first phase of a redevelopment project at its Sincil Bank stadium.
The proposals include the refurbishment of the club's executive boxes, as well as extending the South Park Stand to create more than 5,000sq ft (465sq m) of new office space with a reception foyer and a glass-fronted conference suite. Working with Lincoln City Supporters' Trust, LCFC has submitted an application for European funding for the scheme, which will establish a hub for small businesses to develop.
LCFC is also in discussions with both Lincoln City Council and Lincolnshire County Council to gain permanent access from South Park Avenue, which would be required to enable plans to redevelop the St Andrews Stand to go ahead at a later date. Steff Wright, LCFC chair, said: "Fans' surveys over the past few years have shown an overwhelming desire to remain at Sincil Bank rather than relocate out of the city. Although in the end this will be dependent on gaining access from South Park, there is willingness from the city and county councils to work towards a situation.
"All parties appreciate the massive benefits the city of Lincoln will achieve from having an impressive multi-use football stadium within the city boundary. The Cathedral View Business Centre is an important first step in achieving this goal."
