Quality and health and safety specialist Right Directions has brought in a raft of leisure industry veterans to bolster its team.

Tricia Lewis, 69, joins the company from 1Life Management Solutions where she was head of health, safety and quality, a national role with Corporate responsibility all sites. Lewis has been in the leisure industry for more than 30 years and her new role as Right Directions quality and health & safety co-ordinator will see her reviewing procedures and keeping clients updated and informed through regular communications.

“I wasn’t quite ready to hang up my hard hat when I left 1Life earlier this year,” said Lewis. “Right Directions is the most respected quality management company in the UK and having worked with the team in my previous role I was delighted and flattered to be invited to join them.”

Meanwhile, Andy Waters joins from RDHS, bringing with him 20 years’ experience in the leisure and hospitality industry, having worked in a variety of roles across health and safety and quality consultancy for leisure and hotel operators. Waters’ role as health and safety manager will see him auditing and providing support to clients countrywide, ranging from the mobilisation of new builds to established leisure facilities.

“During my career I have worked on some really interesting projects including guiding and supporting the 2012 Olympic Games Canoe Slalom, 2014 Comic Relief, the England Hockey London Investec Cup last year and Sir Bradley Wiggins 1hr record attempt June 2015,” said the 40-year-old.

“But career progression and a new challenge drew me to Right Directions. I enjoy diversity and due to the mix of Right Directions’ client base, in this new role every day will be different.”

Elsewhere in Right Directions, Charli Turner has arrived to work in administration support, providing new and ongoing client assistance and support for Right Directions’ STITCH accident benchmarking platform.

And last but not least, Christine Coppack, 54, has been appointed as Right Directions quality manager, joining from Everyone Active.

“My leisure career started after the birth of my children, as I no longer wanted a daily commute to London combined with the world of international trading,” said Coppack, who has worked in the leisure industry now for more than 25 years.

“During this journey I’ve worked for three large leisure companies who have all played a part in developing and growing me as a manager, but I needed a new challenge and my role as a quality manager is exciting, provides variety and allows me to share my experiences.”
