WBC Sea Change plans to go on display
Initial design ideas for a £1.6m overhaul of Fleetwood's waterfront - part of the government's Sea Change initiative - are to be put on public display by Wyre Borough Council (WBC).
Plans for a renovation of Marine Hall Gardens and an architectural structure at Rossall Point to act as a visitor destination along a new coastal trail are to be displayed at Marine Hall on 10 and 11 September. Liverpool-based BCA Landscapes, Studio Three architects and artist Lesley Fallais are behind the draft designs, which have been drawn up following a consultation with local residents.
WBC economy portfolio holder Barry Birch said: "Things will start to get more exciting now as the initial designs go public, so once again we urge everyone with an interest in Fleetwood and the surrounding areas to share their thoughts with us." The scheme was one of six across the UK to receive funding in the third wave of grants allocated as part of the Sea Change initiative, which is now closed to new applications after being scrapped by the government earlier this summer.
