New stadium for Ferencváros
Plans have been unveiled for a new €30m (£26m, US$42m) football stadium in Budapest, Hungary.
The 22,000-capacity venue, designed by S.A.M.O architects, will be the new home of the city's Ferencváros Football Club and is scheduled to open in 2012.
UK-based Capita Symonds will provide project management, cost management and design services including structures, acoustics, health & safety, m&e and transport planning.
The stadium will anchor a larger, €400m (US$560m, £345m) mixed-use development which will include a 250-bedroom hotel, leisure facilities (for which exact details are yet to be confirmed), 46,000sq m of retail space and 70,000sq m of office space.
Mark Norris, Executive Director, Capita Symonds said: "The development is highly significant both for Hungarian football and the city of Budapest.
"We are of course delighted to be involved with Ferencvaros both as sponsor and as development consultant with responsibility for the design and delivery of the stadium and associated commercial space.
"The club has a long and distinguished footballing history and it will be fantastic to see the new facility playing its part in the future fortunes of the club."
