Sport England reveals executive team changes
Sport England has revealed that three executive directors - Thomas Godfrey, Judith Dean and Mihir Warty - will be leaving the organisation in September.
Godfrey was the agency's first commercial director, responsible for generating partnerships with the private sector - including Facebook and JustGiving. He is leaving to become partnerships director at A4e. Dean, the current communities director, is taking voluntary redundancy from 3 September, having helped set up the communities directorate and develop a commissioning process for investment in national governing bodies.
Elsewhere, Warty - director for strategy and research - will be returning to the media sector after helping oversee the creation and launch of Sport England's Sport Satisfaction Survey. While a replacement for Warty will be sought subject to the current recruitment freeze in the public sector, the post of commercial director is to be withdrawn and integrated into the communications department.
A review of the executive leadership of the communities directorate will see the management of local staff integrated with those working on a national level. Sport England chief executive Jennie Price said: "I would like to thank Judith, Thomas and Mihir for the significant contribution they have made to the delivery of Sport England's strategy. We wish them every success in the future."
