Local authority to consider pool closure

By Pete Hayman    26 Jan 2012

A swimming pool on the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales, could be shut by the local authority as part of a package of measures to plug a funding gap in its budget for 2012-13.

The move is among a number of savings earmarked by the Isle of Anglesey County Council, which has launched a public consultation in order to gather feedback on the plans.

Other measures include the outsourcing of an island leisure centre and the withdrawal of the local authority-run parks and outdoor facilities. The consultation closes on 10 February.
