New chief operating officer for RFL
BY Pete Hayman

Ralph Rimmer, managing director of the Galpharm Stadium's management company in Huddersfield - KSDL, has been appointed new chief operating officer of the Rugby Football League (RFL).

Rimmer, who is also former chief executive of two Super League clubs, will take up the role on 11 October with the aim of helping the governing body deliver improved services and revenues.

"I'm passionate about the sport and confident that my experience and ability will help the RFL and the Super League clubs build on the achievements we have seen in the last few years," he said.

RFL chief executive Nigel Wood added: "Ralph has an unparalleled mix of experience of Rugby League at all levels, from playing the game at community level with Ulverston to almost 10 years as a Super League director and managing a national team."
