Expressions of Interest from Suitably Qualified Organisations to Manage and Operate the Arrow Valley Visitor Centre Redditch
Redditch Borough Council (the 'authority') seeks expressions of interest from suitably qualified organisations to manage and operate the Arrow Valley Visitor Centre, Battens Drive, Redditch B98 OLJ on a long term contract.
The Visitor Centre is a well used service point for visitors to the central section of the Arrow Valley Country Park close to strong attractors including the lake, walks and the well stocked and maintained play areas. Around 34% of visitors to the Park have come specifically for the visitor centre and café. Recorded visitor numbers to the Centre in 2008/09 were 324,000.
The Centre currently offers a café, reception and information service, a range of events, and a limited meetings facility. The Centre is also the service point for visitors using the lake to fish, the staff issuing day tickets and administering season tickets.
The lower floor and direct lakeside access at the Centre is presently let to a water sports based activity provider to participate in organised water based activities and training courses. More information on the Centre and its activities can be found at www.redditch.whub.org.uk
