£5m sports coaching campaign launched

The DCMS has launched a £5m campaign to recruit 10,000 voluntary community sports coaches in 70 of the most deprived areas of the country.

The drive aims to build strong communities by involving adults and young people in local activities and to boost sports participation and develop sporting talent.

The move will be delivered by sports coach UK, Sport England and sports national governing bodies from April 2008.
