£1.3m Wiltshire sports scheme completed
Wiltshire Council has announced the completion of a £1.3m scheme to create new facilities at the Salisbury and South Wiltshire Sports Club ahead of the London 2012 Games.
The five-year project included improvements to facilities for cricket, hockey, football, rugby and orienteering, while 60-year-old changing areas were replaced with a new pavilion.
Wiltshire Council provided support that included £100,000 worth of developer funding and £70,000 as a local public service agreement Performance Reward Grant.
A Wilton Estate donation also helped fund the improvements, along with grants from bodies such as the England and Wales Cricket Board, Sport England and England Hockey.
Other funding partners included the National Hockey Foundation and a Landfill Tax Credit from the Cleansing Services Group.
