Rugby Borough Council is set to restore Caldecott Park, thanks to a £1m award from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The restoration project aims to install a new junior play area, a smaller toddler play area, a multi sports zone for formal sports activities as well as a café within an existing building in place of the wooden kiosk facility.

The existing chain link boundary fencing will be replaced with traditional black railings, the footpath network will be revamped and the park’s historic floral steps will be restored.

A council spokesperson said: “We aim to provide a premier town centre park, which is accessible to all and offers a wide range of recreational activities and diverse experiences for everyone to enjoy.”
