Ingenious Ventures has announced a £2m investment in a new arena-based live cricket event - Titans of Cricket - that is due to begin in Manchester on 2 October.

A number of iconic cricketing players, representing four countries, are to compete as part of the two-hour format, which will feature "extreme" batting, bowling and fielding challenges. Andrew Flintoff will lead England against other teams fronted by Wasim Akram (Pakistan); Virender Sehwag (India); and David Boon (Australia).

The investment has been made through Ingenious Entertainments' Venture Capital Trusts, with the event also due to take place in Birmingham (5 October) and London's O2 Arena (8 October). Image: Andrew Flintoff is one of the stars to compete in Titans of Cricket - Jim Dowling
