Avalon Leisure, which manages Strode Swimming Pool and Wells Leisure Centre in Somerset on behalf of Mendip District Council and Western Community Leisure has increased its Quest score for both sites following a reassessment.

Wells Leisure Centre scored 74 per cent and Strode Swimming Pool 75 per cent – placing it in the Highly Commended category.

Avalon’s operations manager, Rob Taylor, said: “We are all absolutely delighted at the level of achievement and the elevated status our scores have given us in the leisure field – the staff are to be congratulated on their commitment to the process and their determination to demonstrate continuous improvement for the residents of Mendip.”

Ian Munday, Mendip District Council’s leisure officer, added: “Avalon’s commitment to continuous improvement is deservedly recognised in these recent Quest scores, especially with Strode Swimming Pool moving in to the Highly Commended category. Mendip District Council looks forward to the continued success of its leisure facilities with Quest.”
