2012 Closing Ceremonies appointments revealed

Choreographer and creative director Kim Gavin has been appointed artistic director of both the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Closing Ceremonies.

Gavin has been selected by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) to oversee the production of the events. Other appointments include stage and costume designer Es Devlin, who will be designer of the Olympic closing ceremony and David Arnold as music director for both ceremonies.

LOCOG chair Sebastian Coe said: "The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies are certainly in the best possible hands."
