AECOM nets contract for Saudi Arabia's King Khalid Medical City

AECOM Technology Corporation has signed a US$27.85m (EUR22.7m, £17.9m) contract to work on the King Khalid Medical City development in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
The agreement will see the firm provide architecture, engineering design and production services for the project, with completion currently scheduled for within five years.
AECOM will lead a team of regional companies as part of its work on the development, with facilities to include a 1,500-bed hospital, a hotel and a commercial complex.
King Khalid Medical City is the largest of four hospital schemes initiated by King Abdullah in Saudi Arabia, representing total investment worth SAR16.5bn (US$4.4bn, EUR3.6bn, £2.8bn).

The client is King Fahad Specialist Hospital Dammam and the project owner/sponsor is Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health.
