Ark Leisure Management has sold its portfolio of corporate health clubs to Bladerunner in order to concentrate on developing its 37°-branded chain of clubs.

The deal, which was made for an undisclosed sum, includes 14 management contracts and 20 owned sites across the UK.

Bladerunner, which specialises in providing corporate health and fitness facilities, will take over and rebrand the sites as Bladerunner properties in January 2009.

According to a spokesperson for Ark Leisure, the move is part of the company's strategy to focus on growing the 37° chain.

Ark currently operates two 37° clubs in London – one in Olympia at Kensington and another in More London Riverside complex.

The 27,000sq ft (2,500sq m) Olympia site, designed by London-based SHH architects, opened in April 2008 and was financed by Close Venture Management.

Established in 1989, Bladerunner focuses on the provision of health and fitness to corporate and education clients.

It recently opened a 743sq m (8,000sq ft) gym at the offices of Deloitte on Farringdon Road, London.
