A new aerial adventure course is to open at Sandwell Valley Country Park, West Bromwich, next month as part of a £300,000 adventure centre being developed by the local authority.

The new attraction will incorporate a high ropes course located 42ft (12.8m) above the floor and a low ropes course sited 13ft (4m) above the ground, as well as a zip wire. Outdoor adventure and education group Closer to the Edge are to run the course on behalf of Sandwell Council, which is also creating a cycle hire service and adventure playground.

Sandwell Council cabinet member for leisure services Linda Horton said: "The adventure centre itself will provide a major boost for the valley and benefit the local economy by bringing in people from across the region."
