London-based designer Afroditi Krassa has unveiled renderings of her latest project, Lucky Cat – a new dining concept from British celebrity chef and gastronome, Gordon Ramsay.

The flagship – Ramsay's first major London restaurant in over a decade – has been described as an "eating house" and "late-night lounge" and will feature a number of Japanese-inspired decorative and structural elements, such as bamboo panelling, indigo fabrics, and sculptures of whimsical Monmon cats.

"We have been researching cats galore [over] the last 12 months," Krassa admitted in an Instagram post.

Subdued lighting, distressed furniture, and art deco-like accents will also give Lucky Cat, which the designer has likened to the Izakaya bars of 1930s Tokyo, a "vibrant but not overbearing" personality.

"Ensuring we got the interior design right was imperative for Lucky Cat," said Ramsay in a statement.

The new eatery, which will be helmed by executive chef Ben Orpwood, is scheduled to open in Mayfair at the Marriott Grosvenor Square in May.

"I have no doubt Lucky Cat will more than step up to the plate," Ramsay commented.
