Alex Salmond announces launch of Scotland's Festival of ClubGolf

Scottish first minister Alex Salmond has announced the launch of the Festival of ClubGolf, a programme designed to increase golf participation among young people in Scotland.

An 'activity day' will form the centrepiece of the festival on 11 July, which will allow young people to take part in a putting and chipping challenge and a crazy golf competition among others.

Salmond said: "If we want to give Scotland the best chance of being the future of golf, we need to drive participation in the sport among our young people."
