Anantara to open new Sri Lankan resort amidst 21-acre coconut plantation
The Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort, located along Sri Lanka’s southern coast, will open late this year with a 4,887sq ft (454sq m) Anantara Spa.
Rooted in ayurveda, the spa will feature eight treatment rooms, a reflexology centre and a beauty and hair salon, and will use Themae products.
“Guests will be able to indulge in wellness traditions that have been practiced for thousands of years in Sri Lanka,” said spa manager Roshantha Ramawickrama.
The hotel itself, designed by lead architect WATG in conjunction with local architect Mihindu Keerthiratne Associates and Wimberly Interior Design, is set amidst a 21-acre coconut plantation that opens onto a secluded beachfront location.
The resort features 152 guestrooms and villas decorated in custom-made Sri Lankan furnishings along with six restaurant, bar and lounge venues.
