By Tim Nash    11 Nov 2008

The Hotel Cateys 2008, the sister ceremony to The Cateys, honours the very best of hospitality within the hotel sector.

This year the event was hosted by Rob Brydon and took place at London's Royal Lancaster Hotel. John Williams, executive head chef at The Ritz in London was applauded for his remarkable achievements and dedication to the hospitality industry, winning Outstanding Contribution to the Industry.

Other winners included the team at Premier Inn Gloucester East (Barnwood), which scooped the Extra Mile Award for going above and beyond their call of duty during last summer's devastating floods. Housekeeper of the Year went to Jean Robers, Hotel du Vin, Harrogate, while Hotel Restaurant Manager of the Year was Loris Lucchini at the Chesterfield Mayfair in London.

Bedruthan Steps Hotel, Spa & Venue in Cornwall was named Green Hotel of the Year while Front of House Manager went to Carly Taylor from Von Essen's Ston Eaton Park Hotel in Bath. Hotel Chef of the Year (less than 250 covers) went to Simon Radley, executive chef at the Chester Grosvenor and Spa, with Hotel Chef of the Year (more than 250 covers) going to Anthony Marshall, executive chef at the London Hilton Park Lane.
