Aqua Splash opens on Jersey waterfront
Aqua Splash leisure centre and swimming pool opened at the St Helier Waterfront, Jersey, at the end of July – and is the first leisure centre to open in the Channel Islands.
The £11.5m leisure centre has a capacity of 250 people and includes a 25m, six-lane swimming pool; leisure pool with wave machine and beach area; outdoor pool; flumes; slide; spa; sauna; steamroom and sun terrace.
The centre is operated on behalf of the States of Jersey by Serco Leisure, which also manages leisure centures for various UK authorities.
The Waterfront Centre is a development built on reclaimed land to the north of St Helier, overseen by the Waterfront Enterprise Board – which is wholly owned by the Jersey Government.
Created through a public private partnership wih CTP Properties, the development includes a ten-screen Cineworld multiplex, a Fitness First health club, restaurants, bars and a Luminar Leisure nightclub. There are also plans for a four-star 240-room hotel.
“Managing director of the Waterfront Enterprise Board, David Margason, said: “Aqua Splash offers something completely new to Jersey and has been designed with people of all ages in mind.”
