Aquaterra Leisure has again been awarded the Amateur Swimming Association's Swim 21 accreditation in recognition of the quality of its Learn to Swim programme at all four leisure centres managed in partnership with Bath and North East Somerset Council.

 The ASA, the National Governing Body for Aquatics, praised Aquaterra for their investment and commitment to developing the swimming programme, which has seen a dramatic increase in those participating in swimming lessons at Bath Sports & Leisure Centre, Culverhay Sports Centre, Keynsham Leisure Centre and South Wansdyke Sports Centre.

 They also commended Aquaterra for the outstanding quality and detail of the evidence submitted and the way in which Aquaterra have fully embraced the Swim 21 process.

 Emily Taylor, ASA Aquatics Officer said: "We are delighted that Aquaterra have maintained Swim 21 Learn to Swim Accreditation as it shows they are fully committed to offering a quality Learn to Swim scheme and that they are continually developing".

 Jane Lawrence, Swimming Development Manager for Aquaterra Leisure in Bath and North East Somerset said:

 "It's fantastic to see our commitment and innovation being recognised. The swimming team have worked tremendously hard to expand the programme and provide a high quality lesson experience."

 She added: "Each week we teach over a thousand people to swim, from new babies to senior citizens. There are lessons for everyone and it is never too late to learn!"
