Aquaterra's youth project chosen for Waitrose charity donation
Aquaterra is thrilled to announce that the Saturday Night Project® has been chosen as one of three charities to benefit from the in-store Waitrose Community Matters scheme throughout June at Waitrose, Holloway Road in Islington.
Each month, a donation of £1,000 from Waitrose will be split between three specifically chosen local good causes. At the checkout, shoppers receive a green token which they place in a box of the charity they'd most like to support. The more tokens a cause gets, the bigger the donation they receive.
The Saturday Night Project® was established to create more activities in the London borough of Islington for 13 -19 year olds. On the last Saturday of each month hundreds of teens descend on the Sobell Leisure Centre, eager to get stuck into the wide range of exciting sports and non sports activities on offer. The success of this high profile project is exceeding all expectations as it continues to engage with young people in a positive and inspiring way.
Antony Kildare, Chief Executive of Aquaterra, said:
"I am delighted that the success of the Saturday Night Project has been recognised and selected as a worthy contender by Waitrose to benefit from its innovative and high profile Waitrose Community Matters scheme. The funds raised will help us to continue to support and deliver this innovative project, thereby positively engaging with young people living in and around Islington, London".
