Arizona Science Center to debut creative hub in Q3 2015
Work is progressing on a US$1.5m (€1.3m, £966,000) development at the Arizona Science Center to open a new space dedicated to creativity and education.
CREATE, designed by US-based architecture firm Westlake Reed Leskosky (WRL), will cover 6,500sq ft (603sq m) and will be used as a creative space, art studio and science laboratory, offering classes in science, technology, art, math and engineering.
The visitor attraction’s community-driven concept will encourage members of the public to teach courses, learn a new skill and help secure partnerships with foundations and other organisations.
Ahead of CREATE’s debut in Q3 of 2015, the science centre is looking for community members to volunteer for scheduled classes, partner with the centre on specialist activities, as well as donate money and supplies for workshops.
