Bardessono hotel and spa goes on sale
The 62-bedroom Bardessono hotel in the Californian town of Yountville is about to be put on the market by owners Yountville Investors LLC for an expected US$46m (€41m, £30m).
Operated by Benchmark Hospitality International and opened in 2009 on land belonging to the Bardessono family of Yountville, the property features a restaurant and a spa – which carries products by Carita, EmerginC, Dr. Alkaitis, and Ultra Technology. In addition to treatment rooms, the spa has a hot tub, infrared sauna and a pool.
Thomas E Callahan of PKF Consulting USA, a division of CBRE, predicted that the the figure of US$1m (€0.9, £0.7m) per room is a conservative prediction as hotels are in demand at the moment, according to the Napa Valley Register.
“The industry has been literally on fire since coming out of the recession,” said Callahan. “Most hotels are generating record-level profits. As a result, you have a lot of capital looking to deploy itself and you have owners saying, ‘It’s time to take my chips off the table.’”
The five-acre Bardessono complex received LEED platinum certification from the US Green Building Council in early 2010 due to its eco-friendly practices. These include the use of solar panels, water conservation, recycled construction materials, organic linens and cleaning products, onsite composting and minimum solid waste generation.
