Barr and Wray reports turnover growth
Barr and Wray, the Glasgow-based provider of spas and swimming pools, has reported a 17 per cent growth in turnover, from GBP15m to GBP17.4m, for the year ending September 2011.
It is the second consecutive year of "strong" results for the group, which has also seen pre-tax profits exceed GBP1m following a 24 per cent increase on the previous 12 months.
Overseas markets such as the Middle and Far East have fuelled Barr and Wray's growth, with the group involved in the design and installation of spa facilities in more than 25 countries.
Among schemes involving Barr and Wray is a EUR2m (USD2.6m, GBP1.7m) spa and pool deal at Jumeirah Messilah Beach, Kuwait, and the new Four Seasons Hotel in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Barr and Wray chief executive Alister MacDonald said: "It is extremely encouraging to see the company continue to enjoy double digit growth, despite tough global market conditions.
"We are firmly focused on increasing the level of our business coming from overseas markets in the years to come and we have a strategy in place to achieve 50 per cent of turnover from markets outwith the UK by 2015."
