Barrecore targets new mums and mums-to-be with Signature Lite
Boutique studio Barrecore has created a new class targeted at pre- and post-natal clients, and those returning to exercise from injury.
Signature Lite has also been created to appeal to a wider age demographic, providing a less intense alternative to the brand’s Signature class.
Available at all 12 Barrecore studios, it uses slower movements so participants have more recovery time and deeper stretching between sets, providing a better understanding of the moves before progressing to the next level of barre fitness.
Lite classes use smaller groups than other sessions, allowing instructors to work more closely with each client, focusing on perfecting techniques and making modifications to accommodate any injuries.
“Signature Lite is a gentler version of our famous Signature class, using your own bodyweight, lightweight props and high repetitions to support joints and strengthen and lengthen all major muscle groups,” said Niki Rein, creative director and founder of Barrecore.
Integrating high-intensity, low-impact fat burning movements, Barrecore focuses on tiny isometric movements with static stretches to ensure every muscle group is given an effective workout to increase strength and flexibility.
In July, guidance released by UK Chief Medical Officers said that expectant mothers should undertake 150 minutes of moderate physical activity spread throughout the week.
