Canadian hospitality brand Basecamp Resorts has debuted its Everwild Nordic spa concept with the launch of its Everwild Nordic Spa and Hotel in Canmore, Canada.

The property, previously known as MTN House Hotel, has undergone renovations to its 99-key hotel and the installation of a brand new extensive spa facility under its Everwild concept, of which it has four more in the pipeline.

The new spa’s installation has cost CA$27 million (US$19.6 million, €16.8 million, £13.8 million).

With a footprint measuring nearly 40,000sq ft, the wellness facilities are focused on creating connection and community, with views of the Three Sisters peaks of the Canadian Rockies.

Everwild’s concept is dedicated to creating inclusive, intentional spaces for rest, ritual and reconnection.

Sky McLean, founder and CEO of Basecamp Resorts, said: “Everwild represents a new chapter in Canadian wellness – where architecture, nature and culture converge. Our goal is to make meaningful wellness experiences deeply rooted in place. Canmore is where that vision takes form.”

The spa has five single treatment rooms and one double.

Everwild’s design guides guests through each stage of the thermal cycle, from the underground changing area (inspired by Canmore’s mining heritage) to elevated outdoor relaxation spaces in alpine surroundings.

Elemental signposting will inform guest journeys:

Earth – these spaces will offer nourishment and grounding experiences

Air – these zones will be used for conversation and social energyWater – guests can hydrate themselves with herbal teas and cocktails here

Fire – Digestion, shared energy and warmth are the priorities in these areas

Guests have access to hot, cold and temperate pools; plus saunas, steamrooms and salt rooms. Sauna equipment is provided by two Finnish companies, IKI and Harvia.

There are also open-air relaxation zones.

Among the areas dedicated to fostering social experiences are a 42-person Aufguss sauna for traditional and modern wellness rituals, as well as a 55-seat Elements lounge for relaxation, food and beverages.

This site will employ 70 people and it will welcome 78,000 visitors annually. To serve this quantity of guests, the spa has 250 lockers.

Access and treatments

A day pass to access the facility is priced between CA$185 (US$132, €114, £100) and CA$219 (US$154, €136, £119).

Everwild Canmore has a partnership with a local skincare supplier, Mother Earth, which is providing bespoke spa treatments.

Massage treatments on offer include those delivered by both Registered Massage Therapists (RMT) and non-RMT practitioners.

The treatments include a 60-minute Glacier Flow massage that uses long flowing strokes with light pressure to ease tightness and restore balance. This therapy, which costs CA$162 (US$116, €102, £88), is described as ideal for stress relief and improved circulation. The 90-minute version costs CA$240 (US$171, €150, £130).

An Alpenglow 60-minute hot stone treatment uses warm basalt stones to ease muscle tension and release trace minerals, followed by a restorative massage. This costs CA$198 (US$143, €125, £108) and the 90-minute protocol costs CA$294 (US$212, €181, £158).

Pipeline

Basecamp Resorts plans future Everwild spa hotels across Western Canada, with new sites confirmed for Banff, Fernie, Revelstoke and Calgary’s Harmony community.
