Birmingham City FC shares suspended

By Tom Walker    10 Apr 2008

Birmingham Football Club’s chief executive and Sport England board member, Karren Brady, and co-owner David Sullivan have been released on bail after being arrested and questioned for false accounting and conspiracy to defraud.

As a result, the Premiership club’s shares have been suspended on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), and officials are expected to make an announcement later today.

Brady, a Sport England board member since 2005, joined Birmingham City at the age of 23 and was named managing director in 1993.

Sullivan, who owns the Daily Sport and Sunday Sport titles, took over the West Midlands club alongside brothers David and Ralph Gold in 1993.
