Boxing to relocate to Sheffield
The Amateur Boxing Association of England (ABAE) is to relocate to the English Institute of Sport Sheffield (EISS) in September.
The organisation is to move from Crystal Palace – its home of 30 years, in order to see through a programme of "modernisation and improved governance, structure and funding," said ABAE chief executive, Paul King.
"Sheffield offers us the chance to be in a city at the cutting edge of elite sport, using first class facilities. We can take advantage of superb opportunities to liaise with clubs, schools and local authorities to deliver a focused programme, develop world class athletes and raise the profile of the ABAE," King added.
The move will create 10 jobs at EISS, including the appointment of the first ever boxing development officer for Sheffield.
The English Volleyball Association relocated its elite squads to the EISS earlier this year.
