Millennium Copthorne Hotels (MCH) has opened a 158-room hotel at Bramall Lane, the home of Sheffield United FC.

A joint project between MCH and Sheffield United, the Copthorne Sheffield Hotel houses a 56-station health club, a fine dining restaurant called 1855, a bar and conferencing facilities.

The property is the fourth hotel operated by MCH at a football stadium, following the openings Copthorne Hotel at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge Stadium, the Millennium Hotel at Reading FC’s Madejski Stadium and the Copthorne Hotel near Manchester United’s Old Trafford Stadium.

Hotel guests will have access to Bramall Lane Stadium’s hospitality facilities for corporate meetings, special events or business meetings, including four conference and event suites which can accommodate events of up to 400 people.

“We expect the hotel to become a major hub for the business community in South Yorkshire as well as a favourite destination for leisure,” said general manager, Orla Watt.
