‘Bring a Bloke’ netball campaign
The Celtic Dragons, the Cardiff-based team playing in the UK’s Netball Superleague, has launched a new initiative to get more men and boys involved in the sport.
The ‘Bring a Bloke’ campaign aims to change misconceptions that netball is “girly” and “boring”, according to the Dragons’ captain Sara Hale.
“Some men still think that netball is a girly sport and possibly quite boring to watch, which just isn’t the case," said Hale. "So, we’re giving men an opportunity here to see for themselves what’s really on offer.”
Any female who buys a ticket to the Dragons’ match against Northern Thunder on 1 December can bring a male partner free of charge.
Other teams in the league, including Loughborough Lightning, have used the scheme in the past.
