Cash boost for Glasgow 2014 volunteer coaches

By Tom Walker    27 Sep 2013
Gymnastics is among the sports to benefit from the grants

Volunteer coaches working with athletes considered to have medal-winning potential at Glasgow 2014 have been given a funding boost by sportscotland.

The national agency will share £70,000 between 15 coaches from six different sports to help with preparations for next summer’s Commonwealth Games.

The grants are a part of sportscotland’s Athlete Personal Awards (SAPAs) scheme, designed to help the coaches cover expenses incurred while supporting their athlete’s training and competition schedule.

The sports to benefit from the sportscotland Coach Personal Awards (SCPAs) will be boxing, athletics, swimming, gymnastics, lawn bowls, and para lawn bowls.
