Centre Point Residences set to breathe new life into London 'national treasure'
Centre Point – a Brutalist landmark in London that was originally designed by Swiss-born architect Richard Seifert – has become the new home of 82 luxury apartments and a bevy of leisure amenities.
Anticipated to be completed next month, the Centre Point Residences will feature a 30-metre swimming pool (purportedly the longest in central London), a spa centre with multiple treatment rooms, a club lounge, a dining room, and a private cinema.
The 34-storey skyscraper, a fixture of the London skyline since the 1960s, was restored by architecture practice Conran and Partners in collaboration with Rick Mather Architects (now MICA).
Morpheus London oversaw the property's interior fit-out.
The redevelopment scheme will also see the creation of a ground-level piazza with various entertainment venues and restaurants.
"When the revival of Centre Point is complete," commented Tim Bowder-Ridger, CEO at Conran Design, "we believe it will restore this building to its rightful place as one of London's most cherished design classics – a modernist masterpiece in the heart of a great creative city."
Mike Hussey, CEO at Almacantar, the project's developer, said: "Centre Point is more than a development site, it is a national treasure."
Prices for apartments start at £1.8m (US$2.34m, €2.1m).
