Clubs vow to pursue new stadium plans
Bristol City Football Club (BCFC) and Nottingham Forest Football Club (NFFC) have vowed to continue with plans for new stadiums.
Despite England's failure to secure the right to host the 2018 World Cup, both clubs said work would continue with efforts to create new facilities. BCFC business development director Guy Price said: "We will remain tenacious and completely committed in our efforts to deliver the stadium."
Nottingham City Council leader Jon Collins said: "Nottingham Forest remains ambitious for a new long-term home and the city council will continue to work with them on any plans it might have." BCFC's plans for a 30,000-seat venue have been hit by efforts to have the proposed Ashton Vale site designated as a town green, while NFFC is eyeing up a move to Gamston.
