Community spaces for Hertsmere
Three parks in Hertsmere are set to benefit from the addition of new community shelters.
Called Hertsmere Community Spaces, the three structures will be installed at Phillimore Recreation Ground in Radlett, Furzefield in Potters Bar and The Moatfield in Bushey between late December and early January.
Hertsmere Borough Council (HBC) appointed The Green Heart Partnership to develop and manage the project - in partnership with Haring Woods Associates and design team Superblue.
The shelter at Phillimore Recreation Ground will also be used as a performance space by the variety of local community arts organisations and other community events.
Ed Sandham, HBC's sports and cultural services manager, said: "The three shelter designs are all unique to each open space and are far from the bog standard shelters that were popular a few years ago."
