Consultation for newest Scotland Community Sport Hub
East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust (EDLC) has launched a public consultation on the first school-based Community Sport Hub as part of a larger national programme of hubs.
The new Community Sports Hub will be based in Kirintilloch High School in the Glasgow area and is a key component to the Scottish Government's 2014 legacy plan.
Using investment from the Lottery, the Hubs are designed to provide a home for local sports clubs and organisations to create a more dynamic, cohesive approach to local sports development and increase numbers of sporting activity in the area.
sportscotland is investing £1.5m of lottery funding annually into the development of 150 hubs across all 32 of Scotland's local authorities by 2016 and at the Kirintilloch hub, Chung Young Taekwondo & Hapkido, Kirintilloch Olympics and Rosebank United have already signed up to be part of the hub with others expected to shortly follow suit.
