Cornish cultural charity appoints new chief executive
The Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society, the charity which runs the Falmouth Arts Centre, has appointed Richard Glover as chief executive.
Glover said: “The Polytechnic Society has played an important part in the history and culture of Cornwall so far and I am looking forward to helping its talented and dedicated team develop plans for an equally impressive future.”
The Falmouth Arts Centre, which contains galleries, a cinema and performance space, was built by the society in Church Street in 1835.
Glover was formerly chief executive at Truro Cathedral, where he managed to reverse a six-figure operating deficit. Prior to that, he was executive director of Cornwall Arts Marketing, a public/private partnership linking the arts in Cornwall to a wide variety of business markets.
