Inverclyde Council has confirmed that it is prepared to invest £150,000 in the refurbishment of an indoor bowling facility, provided enough members sign up to the venture by June.

Inverclyde Indoor Bowling Club was transferred back into the council's control in February after it decided to cease trading due to rising costs and falling membership numbers. However, the local authority's regeneration committee has approved a plan for Inverclyde Leisure to operate the centre and to refurbish the building if 260 members register.
