Cricket Australia approves new governance structure
Cricket Australia has approved the "biggest change in Australian cricket governance" after voting to replace its state-based 14-member board of directors at a recent EGM.
A new nine-member board comprising three independent directors and six selected by each State Association will be introduced as a result of the new governance structure.
The new board members will take up their roles with effect from Cricket Australia's AGM on 25 October, with the six State Association-appointed directors already confirmed.
Cricket Australia chair Wally Edwards said: "Australian cricket needs a governance that the modern sport deserves as a highly-professional, major player in the global sport and entertainment arena."
