Bookings for the Culture Shock seminar are coming in fast!

This one-day seminar on 2 October 2007 at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry takes a strategic look at how to achieve community-wide impact with cultural services.

The seminar opens with Bill Feinstein from DCLG (the Department for Communities and Local Government) who will highlight the importance the White Paper places on community and neighbourhood development. His session will provide a sound foundation to the day – examining how cultural services can achieve community priorities.

Other key topics include:
Current thinking on the new Comprehensive Area Assessments (CAA)
• Tricia Kilsby from the Audit Commission will explain this prime method of assessing the performance of Councils in future, and their partners
Improving satisfaction perceptions
• Jane Robinson of Ipsos MORI will explain key factors from BVPI surveys
Restructuring – effective working in counties, districts and new unitaries
• Carolyn Downs, Chief Executive at Shropshire County Council will challenge us all on leadership
Local Area Agreements
• Andrew Ormston, Divisional Director at Lambeth LBC will share his wide knowledge of getting the best from your own Local Area Agreement
Value for money
• Mick Cartledge, Director at Burnley Borough Council will highlight real benefits from working closely with the health sector.

A short interactive session after lunch will provide an opportunity to share experiences and develop an action plan to take away.
