Cypress SkyCycle set for Florida attraction
Florida EcoSafaris at Forever Florida in St Cloud, US, has revealed that it will launch a new eco-tourism experience that will allow visitors to cycle through treetops.
The new Cypress SkyCycle is due to open in July and involves a one-hour journey through the 4,700-acre (1,902-hectare) Forever Florida Wildlife Conservation Area. Suspended from a network of high-tension steel cables, specially-designed SkyCycles will allow visitors to travel over pine flatwoods and Turkey Slough, an area of forested wetland.
Guests will also pass over the pond which is home to a 13ft (4m) alligator that has lived at Forever Florida for more than 60 years as part of the Cypress SkyCycle experience. Florida EcoSafaris at Forever Florida general manager Ken Wilshire said: "Our goal is to provide our guests with outrageously fun adventures first and foremost but at the same time get them an up close and personal view of this vitally important area."
The Cypress SkyCycle technology has been developed by ECO-Adventure Technologies and is already in operation at Hidden Worlds Adventure Park in Tulum, Mexico.
