Alex Blackwell has been appointed to the new role of group lifeguarding manager at DC Leisure.

Overseeing 2,000 full and part-time lifeguards across 63 pools, he will be responsible for maintaining high standards in training and procedures.

Blackwell has worked at various UK DC Leisure sites – in duty and general manager roles – for the past 11 years, and was most recently operations manager at the Pavilions in the Park in Horsham.

He has also been a national trainer/assessor for the Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS) UK for the past six years.

DC Leisure will be entering a team into the ISRM and IQL (Institute of Qualified Lifeguards) National Lifeguard Challenge.
