Dartford stadium project on course
Dartford FC is on course to be taking residence in its new stadium at Princes Park by the end of September, after 14 years of ground sharing with other clubs.
The £6.5m scheme is being funded by Dartford Borough Council. The 4,000-capacity stadium will be the centrepiece of the development, which also includes a floodlit artificial pitch to be made available to the local community.
Changing facilties will be located in the clubhouse, as will banqueting and conference facilities, a club shop, and the club's offices.
The stadium has been designed by Alexander Sedgley architects to be highly sustainable and ecologically friendly, and features a green 'living' roof and wooden cladding.
Jeremy Kite, deputy leader of Dartford Borough Council said the project would have a significant impact on the local sporting landscape: “Once completed, Dartford FC's new high specification ground will not only prove an excellent sporting venue, but also focus community aspirations and spark continued regeneration within the area.”
