Workplace Health and Safety publishes drowning information sheet

By Tim Nash    23 Oct 2009

A number of people, including children have drowned in public swimming pools over the last few years.

These tragic events have occurred in varying types of facilities - from council-owned pools through to resorts and privately-run aquatic centres.

The causes that have contributed to the events have also varied.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland has developed an information sheet that highlights the issues contributing to the risk of drowning in public pools and the guidelines that should be relied upon to manage these risks.
