Doubletree by Hilton debuts in Scandinavia
Hilton Worldwide has signed an agreement with the Key Hotel Group to open the Doubletree by Hilton, Oslo-City Centre shortly. It will be the company's first hotel in Norway and Doubletree's first in Scandinavia.
Situated on Stortingsgata, the hotel has been created from a listed building and is currently undergoing the final touches to meet local heritage guidelines. Nearby are historic buildings such as the Royal Palace, the National Theatre, the Town Hall and Parliament. The Oslo-City Centre's first phase will open with 59 single, double and deluxe bedrooms, a full-service restaurant and a lobby bar. When the entire refurbishment is completed at the end of 2010, the hotel will feature 103 bedrooms, along with a fitness facility and business centre.
Doubletree by Hilton now has 18 hotels open or scheduled in Europe, with operations in the Nordic region including the Hilton Helsinki Vantaa Airport, Hilton Helsinki Strand and Hilton Helsinki Kalastajatorppa, all in Finland; Hilton Copenhagen Airport in Denmark; Hilton Stockholm Slussen and Hilton Malmo City, both in Sweden; and Hilton Reykjavik Nordica in Iceland.
