El Equipo Creativo has completed the interior design for Barcelona restaurant, Disfrutar, giving it a distinctly Mediterranean flavour.

Ceramics, in different formats, have been used to give each part of the restaurant – the bar, the kitchen and the patio - its own identity.

“The client wanted to transmit naturalness, humility and respect for the history and heritage of the Mediterranean,” said the architects. “In each space it is transformed into a new material, making each area unique.”

In the entrance area, ceramics are used in a colourful, artistic way, with panels of monochromatic tiles. Whereas in the kitchen the ceramics are more rugged: baked bricks are used in their natural colour, forming a golden and warm ambience.

The dining room – a wide, luminous space – aims to transport diners away from the city to a more natural environment. The white walls, ceilings and floors, with openings in a chaotic order, are reminiscent of Mediterranean towns.

Indoor plants and green walls feature within the restaurant in an attempt to 'bring the outside in.'
