Emlyn Brown joins Mandarin Oriental as group director of spa, leisure and wellness
Emlyn Brown has joined Mandarin Oriental as group director of spa, leisure and wellness.
Earlier this month, Brown left Accor, where he was VP of wellbeing, strategy, design and development for the past seven years.
He worked across Accor’s many brands, collaborating with different departments to set out a future vision for each of them via the publication of wellness white papers and launching brand-specific spa and fitness facilities at hotels around the world.

Prior to Accor, Brown had roles at Resense, GOCO Hospitality, Six Senses and Jumeirah Group.
At Mandarin Oriental, Brown will be involved in the company’s ongoing transformation strategy to offer hospitality experiences that achieve the brand’s full potential, according to an announcement made by the company on Linkedin.
He replaces Jeremy McCarthy, who was with Mandarin Oriental for 11 years, most recently as group director of spa, leisure and wellness.
Outside of Mandarin Oriental, Brown is an advisor to the social wellness concept 432, alongside industry veterans Jamie Waring and Jonathan Fisher. 432 will offer breathwork and contrast bathing at democratised pricing when the first site opens in Amsterdam later this quarter.
